Submit UCs on time: MLA Aboh

KHONSA, Jun 10: With the formal inauguration of Govt Sec School building at Dadam CO headquarters by local MLA Tirong Aboh today, the winds of change have become ‘visible’ in the hitherto educationally backward Dadam area.

The double storeyed school building constructed by the PWD under its SPA at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore has 12 classrooms including a staff room, a meeting hall and headmaster’s office. The building can accommodate 400 students.

In his address, the MLA threw light on the evolution of Dadam Sec School from primary to middle level and highlighted the amount of struggle he had to go through to get the Sec School building sanctioned, and lauded the department of Education and PWD for their cooperation.

The MLA urged the HoDs of Works departments to prepare DPR correctly and pursue the schemes with the State govt and GoI persistently while adding that UCs should be submitted on time to get new funds sanctioned.

He opined that the HoDs must be pro-active to initiate beneficial schemes for the people and should be ready to take a calculative risk. Aboh called upon the people to work in close coordination with the departmental officers.

Urging the students and the villagers to maintain the govt assets properly, the MLA asked the parents to take special care of their children’s education.

In his speech, CO Dadam Asan Kri said that the school building was a long-felt demand and with its fulfillment it would cater to the need of the students of the whole Dadam area and asked the members of School Management and Development committees to monitor the functioning of the schools effectively.

DDSE Pubi Lombi said that the Secondary schools were upgraded depending on the strength of students from feeder schools and briefed on the plethora of problems being faced by the schools in the district. He hoped that more teachers would be posted in the Dadam Sec School soon.

EE PWD S K Badiala asked the contractors to maintain quality and follow the guidelines and specifications while building any infrastructures.

DFO Bitem Darang, in his speech, lauded the MLA Aboh for his clear ‘vision’, drive and keenness to usher in unprecedented development in Dadam area and added that forest clearance was of paramount importance while constructing roads.

Earlier, school headmaster Wangthian Hakhun threw light on availability of infrastructures in the school and shortfall too. He requested the MLA to initiate steps to post subject teachers and sanction funds to procure teaching materials, furniture etc. During the inauguration, the MLA and officers planted saplings at the school premises which were provided by the Forest department. The programme was also attended by Chiefs, GBs and PRIs of Dadam circle. (DIPRO)
