Police nabs absconding accused

SEPPA, Nov 28: Acting on a tip-off, Seppa Police has arrested one Shankar Eri, an accused wanted in the Seppa PS case No. 73/2016 u/s 366(A)/376/343/506 IPC r/w section 4 of POCSO Act, from the main market at Seppa on Nov 27 last.

The said accused was evading arrest since August 13 last, the fateful day when DSP Bomto Kamdak, who leading a police team was on his way to Eri village (native place of accused) to apprehend him, had lost his life during exchange of fire with another wanted accused, Tagyung Yangfo, at Sangrungwa village (Wada Camp) under Chayangtajo circle.

The investigating officer (IO) of the case, lady sub-inspector Amo Pansa of Seppa police station assisted by SI K Wangsu and constables R Tabri and K Mossang has managed to apprehend the absconding accused from a local ‘daru adda’. She deserves recognition for solving the sensitive nature of the case, felt locals. (DIPRO)
