10-day training concludes at CHF

Pasighat, Feb 18: The 10 days training programme on ‘Soil testing and organic farming for sustainable agriculture management in North East India’ organized for officers and extension personnel of line departments has concluded at the College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF), CAU, Pasighat today.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr A K Pandey, Dean, CHF explained the importance of soil health for maintaining the sustainable higher yield of crops. He also stressed that if soil collapses the existence of human will be in danger. He urged the officers to take appropriate action to increase the area under the organic cultivation.

Earlier, the CHF professors Dr S D Warade and Dr Rajan Bawa said that soil testing is an important tool for optimum use of manure and fertilizer which maintain the soil health. They also spoke on scope of organic cultivation in Arunachal Pradesh as most of cultivable lands are still under virgin condition. Altogether, 23 participants from different line departments of the State underwent the 10-day training programme.
