NIFCS expresses concern on ‘distortion’ of tradition

ITANAGAR, Mar 3: The Nyishi Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society (NIFCS) has expressed resentment over the reported unceremonious celebration of Nyokum Yullo 2017 in some parts of the state.

Claiming that the ritual parts of the Nyokum Yullo had been intentionally distorted and mocked, the, the Society stated that it was an insult and disrespect to the age-old tradition and culture of the Nyishi community and vehemently condemned such unscrupulous act.

Further, NIFCS urged upon the Central Nyokum Committee (CNC) to play proactive role in this regard by issuing directives and guidelines of Do’s and Don’ts prior to the Nyokum Yullo celebration.

It also appealed the indigenous believers to actively involve in the celebration to ensure that no distortion takes place in near future.

‘Come up with innovative ideas’

ITANAGAR, Mar 3: The newly appointed Capital DC Prince Dhawan today had a coordination meeting with all heads of offices/line departments under the Capital Complex administration.

Chairing the meeting, the DC asked the officers to brief their work profile, ongoing projects & future priorities and work together as a team for development of Capital Complex.

He also urged upon the officers to come up with innovative ideas and to work together to get the same materialized.

The DC further asked all the officers to make a report of the issues that needs urgent attention. He requested the Team Itanagar to adopt the motto “Service before Self” & “Development for All”.

He further observed that citizens come to govt offices with a lot of hope to get their work done and we must try to fulfill their aspirations.
