CFSI’s film bonanza gets underway at Pasighat

ITANAGAR, Jun 10: In its constant endeavour to provide children of North East India a wholesome entertainment and to strengthen the children’s film movement in the region, the Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, and Cinedarbaar in collaboration with Directorate of Elementary Education, GoAP is organizing film bonanza across the State for children.

The film bonanza kicked off at Pasighat in East Siang on June 8 last will also cover various schools of Roing in Lower Dibang Valley and Anini in Dibang Valley district.

CFSI’s Film Bonanza will showcase films of Mrinal Sen, Satyen Bose, Shyam Benegal and others.

Also to promote child protection rights, short animated fun films made by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights will also be screened before every film.

The festival will also organize quiz competition based on the films screened for children. Each correct answer will win special gifts.

“We have been very active in bringing high-quality children’s entertainment to the North East by way of exposing to CFSI films for the last few years. We have seen many creative personnel from North East, being involved in various film making projects,” Shravan Kumar, CEO, CFSI, said.

CFSI promotes films that provide healthy and wholesome entertainment for children to broaden their perspective and encourage them to reflect on the world around. With an enviable catalogue of 250 films in 10 different languages, CFSI remains the prime producer of children’s films in South Asia. They organise film screenings across the country, reaching out to approximately four million children annually.

CFSI is committed to strengthening the children’s film movement within India and promoting Indian produced children’s films across the globe.
