State level Vendor Dev Program held

ITANAGAR, Dec 6: A one-day State level vendor development programme (SLVDP) was organized by Branch MSME Development Institute, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt of India, Itanagar in association with Inspector General, ITBP North East Frontier HQ at latter’s premises at Khating Hill here today.

This was a buyer-seller meet which envisaged extending marketing assistance to MSME sector. The objective of the programme was to provide a common platform to MSMEs to know about the vendors’ participation in procurement of goods and services by the Central PSUs/Central Govt Departments/Ministries.

The programme was inaugurated by S B Sharma, Dy Inspector General, HQ NE Frontier, Itanagar. In his address, the DIG appreciated the Branch MSME-DI, Itanagar for organizing such a programme in their premises to develop marketing resources for the local MSME vendors. He also emphasized the stores requirement for their procurement and urged the local potential industrialists and vendors to prepare a list of the items being manufactured and enlist the same for their procurement purpose in future.

The details of Public Procurement Policy were also explained to the participants by G Podder, Asstt Director, Branch MSME-DI, Itanagar. Sanjeev Mishra, Asstt Commandant, ITBP, Itanagar and D D Sharma, Inspector, ITBP deliberated on the procurement procedures, vendor registration process etc, and e-procurement details of stores purchased from the venders respectively. G S Khandelwal, Asstt Director I/c, Br MSME-DI, while delivering his welcome address described the importance of Public Procurement Policy to the industrialists and prospective vendors present at the programme.
