Effort afoot for effective coverage of MRC in U/Siang

YINGKIONG, Dec 13: A workshop cum orientation on district Measles – Rubella vaccination campaign was conducted by the District Health Society (DHS) at the DC conference hall here yesterday under chairmanship of ADC Yingkiong.

Speaking on the occasion, Seema Sing Koshal of Rapid Report Team WHO informed that the workshop on Measles-Rubella campaign is being conducted with all stakeholders for its cent percent coverage.

She informed that the vaccination campaign is being launched statewide to ensure hundred percent immunizations of all children within the age group of nine months to 15 years and asked all participants to sincerely take up the Measles-Rubella campaign, which is slated to do begin from February 2018.

The meeting was attended by DDSE Upper Siang, CDPO, DD (ICDS), health assistants, supervisor, Principal of various govt and private schools of the district.

Earlier, in-charge DMO Gepeng Litin informed that the District Task Force on Immunization has been formed to enhance the involvement and accountability of all concerned functionaries in the district and all stakeholders involving department of Education and Women & Child Development through convergent efforts to fulfill the immunization campaign.

She also called for greater involvement of Principals, teachers, CDPOs, supervisor, media health functionaries, GNM’s, Panchayat leaders and stressed the need for vaccination to educate the beneficiaries about the benefits of immunization and understand the importance of routine immunization to protect their children from disease and increase their confidence in vaccine.

The meeting reviewed proposal of implementation of Micro-plan strategies and district preparedness for effective coverage of the Measles Rubella Campaign (MRC) in the district. (DIPRO)
