Give thrust to up CD ratio, DC tells banks

TAWANG, Dec 13: A meeting of the District Consultative Committee, District Level Review Committee and District Level Security Committee was held here today.

Taking serious note of the low CD ratio in the district, DC Tawang Sang Phuntsok asked the banks to aggressively push for increasing the same. He also asked the banks to explore possibility of giving housing loans besides personal and car loans.

Taking into account reluctance on the part of work contractors to avail loan facilities, the DC said that it is important that awareness on significance of debt financing be created. With regard to various schemes rolled out by the govt, especially social security schemes viz PM Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, PM Suraksha Beema Yojana and others, the DC said that all circle officers have been directed to take proactive role in enlightening the public especially villagers on the same and to mobilize them to come forward and avail benefits.

Further, it was decided that forms for the said schemes would also be made available in all offices. Reflecting on Jeevan Praman programme under which Aadhar based digital life certificates are generated, the DC said that physical life certificates/appearances should not be insisted upon by the Pension Disbursing Agency.

Schematic progress on various govt sponsored schemes, recovery of govt sponsored loans including Bakijai cases, progress on financial literacy campaigns, security measures of banks etc were also discussed at length.

The meeting was also attended by ZPC, SP Tawang, Chief Manager (Lead Bank), HoDs and bank officials. (DIPRO)
