Mangnang UPS celebrates Golden Jubilee

PASIGHAT, Jan 2: Mangnang Upper Primary School under Ruksin sub-division of East Siang district has celebrated its Golden Jubilee with a two-day programme on Dec 28 & 29 last.

Gracing the occasion as chief guest, local MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture & Fisheries, Er Tatung Jamoh had inaugurated the ‘Golden Jubilee Memorial Gate’.

Speaking on the occasion, Jamoh congratulated the school community and wished them a glorious future, while adding that the school has made very precious contributions to the society.

Emphasizing the need to inculcate values in students, he said, education without moral values is dangerous to society. He assured to bring more development in the area including road connectivity.

Other dignitaries including Lok Sabha MP Ninong Ering, Director of Elementary Education Tapi Gao, Ruksin ADC T Pada, DDSE J Yirang, Sille-Oyan Circle Officer O Gao and ZPM Tajing Taki were also present on the inaugural day’s function. During the event, alumni and ex-teachers of the school were felicitated and students performed cultural programme on various themes. A special camp on ‘Measles-Rubella Vaccination’ awareness cum signature campaign was also organized.

Former Minister Dr Tangor Tapak and ex-Director of School Education Tapang Taloh attended the valedictory function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. In their speeches, the duo advised the students to work hard with a commitment towards bringing positive change in their area and to be bold enough to make it happen. Patron of Golden Jubilee celebration committee Tai Riba also spoke on the occasion. (DIPRO)
