Society bid to improve education scenario in Monigong circle

ITANAGAR, Jan 2: Expressing grave concern over the alleged worsening education scenario of Monigong circle under Mechuka sub-division where due to absence of subject teachers the academic results have been deteriorating over the past few years, Boh Ramo Bokar (Adi) Elite Society today sought immediate intervention of authority concerned to improve the education system of the area.

The Society, in a statement here, claimed that the conditions of various schools of remote Monigong circle are grim due to “lackadaisical attitude and lack of attention” by the authority concerned.

The lone Secondary School, Monigong, established way back in the year of 1961 is a glaring example in this regard as even after its upgradation from Middle School to Secondary level in 1997 the school is “in shambles” due to lack of subject teachers and necessary infrastructures, the Society lamented.

It is said that the school is running without subject teacher since its upgradation resulting in poor performance in CBSE examinations every year. At present there are 44 students in class VIII, 41 in class IX and 33 in class X respectively who will appear in Board examinations.

Claiming that the students are struggling hard in their studies without science and mathematics teachers, the Society questioned how the poor student will clear the examination in such a situation.

“Who should we blame if the students fail to clear examinations? Is it the government, public or student?” the Society questioned, adding the concerned authority should immediately initiate “corrective” measures to solve the problem before it’s too late.

While claiming of similar situation in the recently upgraded Govt Secondary School, Tato under Tato circle, the Society informed that initially few subject teachers were posted but they didn’t stay “properly” causing lots of difficulties to students in their studies.

In this regard, the Society strongly appealed the state govt particularly Education Department to immediately post maths and science teachers in the Govt Sec Schools of Monigong and Tato respectively at the earliest as the CBSE exam is going to take place from March, 2018.
