Assembly polls in Meghalaya: Arunachal NPP leaders attend mega rally

SHILLONG, Jan 5: As part of the upcoming assembly election in Meghalaya, the National People’s Party (NPP) conducted a mega rally at the Polo Ground here yesterday in which Arunachal NPP president Gicho Kabak, vice presidents Anok Wangsa and Nima Sangey Saling attended.

NPP national president Conrad K Sangma (MP), Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Joy Kumar Singh, MLA James Sangma, Gicho Kabak and other prominent leaders of NPP addressed the rally.

On the occasion, the NPP finalized the names of 51 candidates for the Meghalaya Assembly polls scheduled to be held in February next.

The speakers said: “The people of Meghalaya have already lost their confidence on the Congress Govt in the state. They want a change and hence, the NPP is going to form the next govt in Meghalaya with absolute majority.”

On the sidelines of the mega rally, the leaders of NPP, Arunachal had a meeting with NPP national president Conrad K Sangma MP, GS Vivek Raj, MLA James Sangma and Dy CM of Manipur. They assured all possible support to strengthen the party in Arunachal Pradesh.
