Swami Vivekananda’s 156th birthday celebrated

AALO, Jan 8: The 156th birthday of Swami Vivekananda was today observed at Ramakrishna Mission, Aalo with a day-long programme. Various programmes were organised in the main prayer hall from 7 am to 12 noon in the midst of hundreds of well-wishers and admirers of the Mission. An elaborate Puja & Homa were performed by the monks and devotional songs by monks, staff and students.

The programme started with Vedic chanting and Stotras by monks followed by reading of life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda in Hindi language followed by a photo exhibition on life and teachings of the great saint. In the evening, special Arati was performed along with Sankirtan and Bhajans. Sweets were also distributed to all. (DIPRO)
