GASU to host Arunachal Carnival at Guwahati

ITANAGAR, Jan 18: To commemorate its 50 years of existence and to showcase the rich culture and tradition of the State, the Guwahati Arunachal Students’ Union (GASU) decided to organize Arunachal Carnival at AEI Field, Chandmari, Guwahati from February 16 to 19 next.

Disclosing the motive of the celebration here at Arunachal Press Club this afternoon, GASU president Toofan Ligu informed that Guwahati being the gateway to Northeast is a vital place to showcase the rich culture and tradition of the state.

He further told that the event shall give platform to more than 7000 Arunachalee youths of the state residing in Assam to mingle and know each other better.

Chairman of the organizing committee, Deo Lorrah Sangno said the celebration shall also showcase ethnic cuisines, tribal attire & lifestyle, art & craft, fashion, folk music, photography and traditional sports.

He added the committee shall also strictly monitor on food stalls to be erected so that anyone can come and taste the ethnic cuisine in reasonable rate.

The organizing chairman further told that GASU, established in 1966, has decided for major celebration this year to multiply the fervor of Golden Jubilee celebration.
