GHSS Doimukh selected for WIPRO Earthian award

ITANAGAR, Jan 19: Govt Higher Secondary School, Doimukh, Papum Pare district has been selected by the multinational company WIPRO for its science project themed “Bio-diversity and sustainability of water” during a regional award ceremony of WIPRO Earthian held at AP Science Centre, IG Park here today.

Addressing the function, Bangalur-based WIPRO Earthian associate Ashish Shah said that out of 1400 schools participated in WIPRO’s sustainability program this year, 10 including GHSS Doimukh have been selected for the award. They will be awarded in the national level award ceremony at Bangaluru next month. He said winning and losing is nothing but a part of life but participation is must which gives experience and efficiency.

Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS&T) Director cum Member Secretary C D Mungyak, in his address, while citing the proverb ‘failure is the pillar of success’ told young participants: always try to learn and share your knowledge to others so that your efficiency and knowledge grow and in later stage become a fine gentlemen to lead the society in a better way.

Earlier, the APSCS&T Joint Director welcomed all and delivered the keynote address and said that next year the programme will also held in district level so that students from all districts could able to take part. Science Centre curator Dr Vivek Kumar also spoke on the occasion.

Besides the Doimukh GHSS students, two other projects of GHSS Itanagar and VKV Vivek Vihar were also felicitated for their project at regional level event.
