MRVC launched in LDV

ROING, Jan 31: The Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) in Lower Dibang Valley District was launched today by MLA Mutchu Mithi in presence of Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom, ZPM Starson Saring, DMO Dr R Tatan, HoDs, PRI members, doctors and officials of District Hospital (Roing).

MLA Mutchu Mithi saying that the MRVC is one of the biggest programmes undertaken by the central government and hoped that the district would achieve 100 percent vaccination rate, given the sparse population here.

He also enjoined the Panchayat members and all present to create awareness in such a manner that children themselves would come forward to get vaccinated. Mithi also praised the Health department of the district for their efforts, efficiency and excellent performance, despite facing limitations of manpower and equipment.

The DC congratulated the team involved on completing all the required parameters so that the district could get the go ahead for starting the MRV campaign. She said that the District Administration would provide all possible help during the vaccination campaign. Stressing on the importance of creating awareness, she said that it is very important to know that children already vaccinated against Measles and Rubella diseases should be vaccinated again during the campaign.
