IFS probationers visit Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary

ITANAGAR, Feb 2: Altogether, 35 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer trainees and a trainee officer from Bhutan Forest Service – presently undergoing professional forestry training at the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun – today visited Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary in West Kameng district as part of their East India tour. They were accompanied by IGNFA additional professor Dr S Senthil Kumar.

During the visit, the trainees were briefed about the management interventions practiced at Eaglenest, ecotourism, history and biodiversity of Eaglenest by DFO Millo Tasser. They also learned about the creation of Singchung Bugun Village Community Reserve and interacted with members of the Community Reserve Management Committee. Later they visited the Nature Interpretation Centre at Ramalingam.
