ATA conference concludes

Itanagar, Feb 3: The two-day general conference cum election of Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) concluded here today with the adoption of some important resolutions that will have far-reaching effect on the welfare of the State’s teaching fraternity.

The new office bearers have been mandated to pursue the State Govt for the complete bifurcation of elementary and secondary education – both at State and district level. Implementation of bunching benefits and minimum assured career progression (MACP) for all categories of teachers in the state was also taken up for discussion with members expressing extreme displeasure at the present state of affairs in the department. In the course of discussion, the house also resolved to press for streamlining of the promotional avenues of all categories of teachers.

The first day’s session was attended by Secretary Education Dr Madhu Rani Teotia as chief guest and Under Secretary (Education) Likha Teji as guest of honour.
