Make food grains available to Tarasso people: DC

YUPIA, Feb 6: Taking serious note of non-supply of food grains stock at Tarasso circle, Papum Pare DC Tai Kaye today directed the Civil Supplies Department to ensure proper supply of food items to the people of Tarasso on time failing which strict action will be initiated against the suppliers.

The DC gave this directive while chairing a consultation meeting with all heads of department and administrative officers convened at DC’s conference hall here today to discuss the preparatory work for Budget 2018-19.

Further calling for speeding up the Aadhaar seeding of left out beneficiaries, he asked the department to inform the DC and SP immediately if they were facing any problem in transportation of food items via Assam roads.

SP Tumme Amo pointed out the hardship faced by the police personnel due to non-availability of ration items in remote areas of Tarasso and suggested that the department must maintain buffer stock  at Tarasso circle before the onset of rainy season.

During the discussion, the DC also took stock of present status of education department in view of ensuing state board exam and performance of smart classroom and asked the DDSE and concerned administrative officers to ensure its proper implementation and to ensure that all defunct schools be made functional. DDSE informed that 34 schools have been selected in the district to introduce Smart class.

DMO Dr Tasso Kampu Subu appealed all the HoDs and administrative officers to cooperate in proper implementation of MRVC where every child from 9 months to 15 years will be vaccinated for Measles-Rubella.

All heads of department and ADCs and SDOs presented their present status of schemes implemented by them and apprised the DC about the shortcomings.
