On opening of the locker, the total money amounting to around Rs 12 lakh was found to be intact and murder of cashier Bomge Nyori is now seen as a desperate attempt by assailants to get it opened when the cashier might have disallowed/ fought back not to open the locker.

A team of APRB officials from Naharlagun reached Mebo this afternoon but, as suspected, the money inside the locker was not robbed, said SP Prashant Gautam and i/c ADC (Mebo) Sangeeta Yirang.
