Call for extension of land lease agreement from 30 years to 99 years

ITANAGAR, Feb 8: Social activist Payi Gyadi has urged the State Govt to extend land lease agreement from 30 years to 99 years as per earlier notification to promote more local entrepreneurship business.

In a representation, he said many unemployed youths of the state are unable to get bank loan against their land allotment passbook/documents because bank felt insecure due to less lease period which is 30 years only.

Claiming that only Govt employees in the state are getting any kind of loan from banking sectors because of full security in service records and all, Gyadi said if Govt encourages youths by making best Land Policy, it will support the growth of state economy and at the same time employment opportunities too.

“All the progresses of unemployed youths are being blocked by Govt’s bad policy matter in the highest level. However, some powerful people are getting 99 years lease agreement whereas others are not allotted which is against right to equality which needs immediate correction and equal opportunities for all. Just for obtaining trading license so many hurdles are being faced by applicants in the process of land allotment right from Land Mandal to CM,” the activist alleged.
