Mass procession cum candlelight vigil held seeking justice for Bomge Nyori


PASIGHAT, Feb 10: In a show of oneness, people from different sections of society showing their solidarity with the family of APRB Mebo branch cashier Bomge Nyori, who was murdered on Feb 7 evening in the bank premises by unknown assailants, today took out a massive procession cum candlelight vigil at the Mebo sub-divisional HQs, Romdum, seeking justice for the deceased.

The procession started from Mebo IB and culminated at Romdum general ground, where the candlelight vigil was held and then a petition was submitted to Mebo police outpost seeking early arrest of the culprits involved in the murder.

While remembering the sacrifice of late Nyori, the participants observed a one-minute silence to pray for eternal peace of departed soul. Bodong Yirang, retired Director of Elementary Education and chief patron of Mebo Intellectual Forum (MIF) reiterated the demand for early arrest of killer(s) and awarding them exemplary punishment, providing Govt job to wife of late Nyori, educational assistance to his children and erection of security wall around the APRB Mebo branch.

APRB Mebo branch manager Nalo Nyitan appealed the authorities concerned to look into the plea for employing wife of late Nyori on compassionate ground. He also said that late Nyori was working beyond office hours as workload of Aadhaar seeding was overburdened.

MIF president Osu Borang and Romdum Welfare Society president Gekong Pertin also pleaded for early arrest of culprits and opined that late Nyori will get natural justice sooner or later.

Spearheaded by the Mebo Intellectual Forum, the procession was participated by members of several organizations including All East Siang District Students’ Union, All Mebo Constituency Students’ Union, All Borguli Students’ Union, Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank Employees Association, All Bogong Students’ Union (E), Romdum Welfare Society, Ramle Banggo Students’ Union, Tomlen Kunam, Karko Ao Welfare Society, All Arunachal Pradesh Workers’ Union Mebo, Adiland & Upright Peoples’ Organization, All Private School Teachers’ Association, etc. Among the notables were East Siang DDSE Jongge Yirang and DMO Dr Mandip Perme.
