Pre-Budget consultation held at Yachuli

Ziro, Feb 10: Development Commissioner (Finance, Planning and Investment)  Ashish Kundra held a pre-Budget consultation with the Deputy Commissioners, DPOs, agri-horti officers, progressive farmers, college principals and KVK staff under the Divisional Commissioner (West) at  Yachuli on Saturday.

Secretary, Finance and Agriculture Y W Ringu, Secretary (Planning) Dr Joram Beda, Special Secretary (CMO) Himanshu Gupta, Deputy Director (Planning) Amitav Khundu, Joint Director (Planning) Okep Tayeng and Div Commissioner (West) Gamli Padu were also present at the meeting.

While highlighting the priority sectors, the Development Commissioner called for projecting schemes that are realistic in nature and help in bridging infrastructural gaps in the development process. Emphasis should be given to human resource development to encourage entrepreneurship and generate a self sustainable economy, he added.

In the discussions that followed the participants reflected need based schemes of their districts pertaining to education, health, tourism, and agriculture & allied sector.

Progressive farmers shared the problems faced by them at the ground level. They were unanimous in their demands for facilitating marketing linkages, cold storage, machineries like drier for large cardamom, tea processing unit and training on latest agricultural technologies.

The Commissioner also reviewed various central schemes under Sankalp Se Siddhi programme and the status of Smart Classroom implementation. (DIPRO)
