Speed up process for teachers’ recruitment: AAPSU

ITANAGAR, Feb 12: A team of All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) including its president Hawa Bagang and GS Tobom Dai today called on Dr Madhu Rani Teotia, Secretary Education (GoAP) and submitted a memorandum, pleading to speed up the process for teachers’ recruitment.

In the memorandum, the Union said that in order to give impetus and revamp the “poor” education scenario of the state the GoAP had in its cabinet sitting in October 2017 nodded for recruitment of subject teachers and other non-teaching staff in various categories through Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).

Stating that the move was widely welcome by the cross section of Arunachal society, AAPSU lamented saying “but to its utter dismay even after lapse of many months the said decision has not made any headway thus casting aspersion on the much hyped decision” and requested for expediting the process of teachers’ recruitment on priority basis before the opening of new academic session so that the reported shortage of subject teachers can be done away with across various schools of the state.

Various other issues confronting the Education department that needs immediate attention like appointment of regular DDSEs, Principal, Vice Principal and headmaster on seniority basis were also brought to the Secretary’s attention.
