Construction Co’s vice president rescued from Changlang dist

ITANAGAR, Feb 13: Security force on Monday evening has rescued one Taru Tana, working as vice president of M/s Puna Hinda (a construction company) from Namphai area under Changlang district.

On 10th February, a telephonic information was received from Puna Hinda, president of M/s Puna Hinda that on 9th Feb at around 9.30 pm his company’s vice president, who was staying at Goju village in a rented residence cum office and supervising the construction works of Mahadevpur-Buri Dehing NH-52B, had been kidnapped by some unknown persons and kept him (victim) at an unknown place.

The kidnappers reportedly demanded ransom for release of the victim. On learning about the same, an enquiry was conducted to find out the truth. During the enquiry, the reported incident of kidnapping was found to be true. Accordingly, a case vide BSA/PS/C/NO 03/2018 U/S- 364(A) has been IPC registered and investigation launched. During the investigation, available witnesses were examined and search & rescue operations conducted at various suspected places.

The operation was led by Tashi Darang, SDPO Miao, SI T Tayeng, OC PS Bordumsa and SI T Wangpan, OC PS Kharsang under close supervision of J K Lego, SP Changlang.

On continuing the search and rescue operation near Namphai area, the victim was found and rescued from the jungle in between Nayang and Kamlang village under Miao PS jurisdiction. It is presumed that the unknown kidnappers had abandoned him at the place sensing the presence of security forces and fled away from the place.

The victim has been examined and forwarded to PHC, Kharsang for his medical examination from where the concerned MO referred him outside the state for immediate and further medical treatment as the victim sustained injuries on his head and hip (left side), reportedly assaulted by his kidnappers during his captivity.

Accordingly, the victim has been handed over to his younger brother Taru Nobin due to ill health of the former for further medical treatment, police sources said.
