Ete, Lukham crowned Officers & Officials’ Idols

ITANAGAR, Feb 19: Dr Doorick Ete and Wangdan Lukham were adjudged Officers and Officials’ Idols respectively at the grand finale of the maiden singing talent hunt held at Indira Gandi Park here yesterday.

While Sokhep Kri and Kengo Bam were declared first and second runner-up respectively in officers’ category, Toangi Agi and Karna Sonar emerged first and second runner-up in officials’ category of the event, organized by the Capital Complex District Administration as a part of the Statehood Day celebration.

Tax & Excise and Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin, while inaugurating the event, said the event would not only provide the Govt servants a break from their busy schedule but would also give them the chance to showcase their hidden talents.

“Music is an art which matures with time. But many artists, after joining service, do not get the time to pursue their art. They should continue to pursue their passion and entertain the public,” he said.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who also attended the programme, expressed the hope that it would be a regular event in future and a path breaker, as the Govt employees will have a platform to showcase their talents.

DC Capital Complex Prince Dhawan said that the programme will not only showcase the hidden talents but will be a celebration of local talents.

The event was judged by the panel of judges comprising of Parliamentary Secretary (Tourism) P D Sona, MLA Dasanglu Pul, and renowned singers Taba Yall Nabam and Jomnya Siram.
