AUC bats for a separate ground

ITANAGAR, Mar 5: The Ajing United Club (AUC) suggested that the State Govt develop a separate ground for organizing events, be it State sponsored viz. Independence Day, Republic Day or Statehood Day or other events by private organization in the vicinity of Itanagar and develop it in the line of Heritage Village of Nagaland with permanent structures, which according to the NGO will also save the Govt exchequer.

A delegation of AUC headed by its chief advisor Tanya Agu called on Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today and briefed him the importance of the state capital’s lone park (IG Park) and the perennial use of the park for numerous events, thereby deteriorating the park. Agu also appraised the DyCM regarding the traffic havoc & its problem suffered by the citizens whenever any program is organised. It requested the Govt to earmark fund provision in the upcoming Budget for procurement of adequate land for the purpose.

While responding to the AUC proposal, the DyCM appreciated the concern by AUC and told the delegation that there has to be a state policy decision for which he will have a discussion with the Chief Minister.
