AAPSU pleads on incorporating its suggestions in upcoming State Budget

ITANAGAR, Mar 8: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) while hailing the initiative of GoAP on seeking suggestions from the general masses including CBOs and other organizations among others for inclusion in the budget of the state govt has pleaded it to include a number of suggestions of the Union, centering on education and health sectors.

In a representation to the Chief Minister, AAPSU while taking serious view of the prevalent conditions as regards to education and health sectors has urged him to incorporate its suggestions regarding the two key sectors in the upcoming State budget on priority basis.

The suggestions include one time grant for overall renovation of existing health & educational institutes in the State, one time budgetary allocation for full-fledged establishment of Arunachal University (Pasighat), regular allocation of funds for textbooks, Special provision for covering the LPC & land allotment charges, closure of all non-functional schools and immediate sanctioning of all upgraded schools, budget for creation of teaching and non-teaching faculties in govt colleges, teachers and other ministerial staff in upgradated schools and doctors & other support staff in General Hospitals including health centres, permanent moratorium of creation of new as well as upgradation of existing health & educational institutes without creation as well as sanction of adequate posts for the same, urgent need for encouraging the scholars pursuing their research in the State or outside, starting of Mass Communications, Computer Applications, Anthropology, Physical Education & Sociology disciplines in all govt colleges in the State, initiation of Chief Minister’s Literary initiative & Grants, budget for Science stream at Donyi-Polo Govt College, Kamki, JNC Pasighat, DNGC Itanagar & IGGC Tezu, granting of additional allowances to teachers and doctors serving in remote areas, re-launching of Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme, establishment of Govt BEd College in the State and budget for establishment of School for Children with Special Needs.

The AAPSU also made suggestions on fund provision for DIETs (District Institute of Education & Training), provision for Solar Power in health & educational institutes, budget for Public Library and budget for medical equipments in all health centres and hospitals.
