5 female footballers picked for Dana Cup

PASIGHAT, Mar 9: Bikram Singh Thockchom, advisor of ‘Soccer Foundation India’ and ‘Coerver Coaching’, the global partner of Adidas and world No.1 skill teaching method in 25 countries, has conducted a 3 days training workshop at Pasighat in East Siang district for young football players, both men and women.

Subsequently, five under-19 women players – Renu Padung, Mum Jamoh, Anjipu Darang, Christina Messar and Neki Mize – were selected for Dana Cup, one of the world’s largest football tournaments, to be played in Denmark. Their to and fro journey will be sponsored by MP, Arunachal East Parliamentary Constituency, Ninong Ering.

The flagship training programme was conducted by Donyi Polo Mission in association with Soccer Foundation India. Moreover, Renu Padung was selected for undergoing further training programme at Denmark.

The tentative match schedule will be finalized after further selection of players from Doon Cup in Dehradun.
