DLC meets on SBA

ZIRO, Mar 13: A meeting of District Level Committee of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA), Lower Subansiri was held at the DC’s office chamber here on Monday.

Chairing the meeting, Kemo Lollen, DC Ziro called for inculcating basic civic sense for successful implementation of the programme and also requested all the members to work in social spirit keeping in view the fund constraints for the programme.

Er Tassar Taro, UPO, Ziro gave an elaboration on the measures initiated in the district for successful implementation of SBA.

Nido Tama, brand ambassador for Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri and Kamle districts expressed his concern over the “ill” funding pattern, owing to which he as an ambassador of the SBA was unable to actively participate in the programmes.

Clarifying the doubts raised by Tama, Kago Habung, EE, PHE & WS highlighted the schemes under his disposal like Individual House Hold Latrine (IHHL), Community Sanitary Complex (CSC) and Solid Liquid Waste Management. He informed that the beneficiaries can avail Rs 20,000 for construction of toilets in their houses.

Under CSC a toilet can be built for cluster of houses.

Tamla, DLC in-charge for SBA requested the DA to impose penalty to deter unhealthy disposal of waste.

Kago Kampu, member requested the department to explore ways for the management of sanitary napkin waste.

After threadbare discussion, the house resolved to assign different jurisdictions to the members of the DLC for mobilization of SBA in consultation with Tama. (DIPRO)
