Thunderstorm takes toll on 19 houses fully, 400 partially

ITANAGAR, Mar 30: Going by the reports received so far from the administrative officers of Itanagar, Naharlagun and Banderdewa, Capital Complex DDMO Moromi Dodum Sonam informed that as many as 400 houses have been partially damaged while fully damaged houses are 19.

Apart from these, many trees were uprooted in Itanagar and Naharlagun which damaged some houses and cars in Itanagar. These were cleared immediately by concerned departments of the particular working areas, added the DDMO.

The DDMO also informed that power supply was also snapped in the twin capital as many lines were destroyed. However, the power supply has been restored in Niti Vihar, Senki Park, Panchali and some portions under Raj Bhavan feeder. In the rest, restoration work is going on.

Further, the DDMO informed that relief items would be distributed once the formal official modalities are completed.

Meanwhile, Capital Complex DC Prince Dhawan has urged the denizens to remain calm and prepared for any kind of eventuality.

He time and again stressed that people residing in low lying areas near river banks and landslide prone area to evacuate immediately to safer places as and when there are possibilities of flood, landslide in the coming monsoon.
