Wild tusker kills man in East Siang

ITANAGAR, Mar 30: A 60-year-old man was reportedly trampled to death by a wild elephant last night when it wandered into Kemi Muk village near Kemi River on the outskirts of Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary in East Siang district.

The deceased has been identified as Durga Bahadur Chetri, a farmer from Kabu Chapori in Dhemaji district of Assam. At least 10 houses were also damaged in the attack.

According to sources, the elephant has also damaged many agriculture fields inside Jampani area and labour camps inside Donyi Polo Tea Estate, Oyan.
