RUSA projects reviewed

ITANAGAR, Apr 2: Director of Higher & Technical Education cum State Project Director (RUSA) Dr Tayek Talom took a review meeting here today to assess the progress of ongoing projects taken under RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) at JN College, Pasighat and DN Govt College, Itanagar. The meeting was attended by the Principals, RUSA coordinators and officers of State Project Directorate, RUSA, Itanagar.

Deputy State Project Director, RUSA, Minto Ete highlighted the achievements made so far under RUSA programme, stating that many quality infrastructures have been created in the Govt colleges of the State. To ensure quality implementation of the RUSA projects in the State, constant monitoring has been carried before, during and after the projects, he added.

Dr Talom while lauding the RUSA team of the colleges for their constant efforts in successful implementation of RUSA projects in the State requested them to continue the same zeal. The launch of RUSA during 2013-14 has been a boon for the State and higher education in particular, he added. He said Arunachal Pradesh is reaping the fruits of RUSA programme and extended gratitude to the Govt of India for launching such a wonderful programme from where the States are developing the education sector quantitatively and qualitatively.

After the meeting, the team led by the Director visited the ongoing RUSA projects at DNGC. The completed G+2 Commerce Block is now in use and a similar G+2 academic building is also coming up from RUSA fund which is likely to be completed by the middle of this month. Dr Talom appreciated the RUSA team of DNGC led by its principal Dr N T Rikam and requested them to continue the constant monitoring to ensure quality implementation of the projects.

He also requested the college authority to ensure that any payment under RUSA programme is made through pubic financial management system (PFMS) expenditure advance and transfer (EAT) module only. He also directed the RUSA team of the college to ensure that projects are properly Geo-tagged and fund transfer is properly uploaded in RUSA fund tracker app.
