4 SHG members take part in Delhi Aajeevika Mela

ITANAGAR, Apr 3: Four Self Help Group members being promoted by Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) from Yachuli and Namsai participated in the annual Aajeevika Mela held at New Delhi from 23rd March to 1st April last.

Aajevika Mela is being annually organized by Ministry of Rural Development wherein the SHG members from all states of the country participate for exhibition and sale of their products in over 500 stalls, which display the skills, potential and hard work of women SHG members from across India. The stalls had items ranging from handlooms, handicrafts, decorative items, metallic products, earthen utensils, paintings, organic food items, spices, processed food products, soft toys, utility items, brass and wrought iron products.

The annual SARAS Aajeevika Mela is an endeavour of DAY-National Rural Livelihoods Mission to provide to the rural women producers a national platform and an opportunity to showcase their products, and seek buyers, either individuals or bulk buyers for sale nationally and internationally.

Joram Pera, Nabam Rinia, Binita Mowke and Junu Gogoi are the SHG members who participated in the Delhi event. They were accompanied by Programme Manager of ArSRLM, Nabam Ompi.
