State BJP follows rest to celebrate 38th foundation day

ITANAGAR, Apr 6: Going with the rest of Bhartiya Janata Party Units across the country – the BJP, Arunachal Pradesh celebrated its 38th foundation day (sthapna divas) at its headquarters here today under the chairmanship of its vice president Tame Phassang.

Hundreds of party workers, ministers, MLAs, former MLAs and others joined the celebration, which started with flag hoisting followed by paying of floral tributes to great leaders like Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (now, BJP) and Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

Addressing the gathering, Power Minister Tamiyo Taga briefed the history on foundation of BJP in the country and recalled the contribution of the founder leaders who formed the right wing with an aim and ideology of ‘Nation first’.

He appealed the party workers to continue their selfless services for the development of the nation and state.

Speaking on the occasion, Phassang elaborated on the struggles and success of the BJP since its inception. Although in its initial stage the Party won only two seats in the 1984 general election, however with many ups and downs it grew in strength and now, BJP has its govt in more than 20 states and moreover, ruling at the Centre, he said.

“The journey of BJP itself is an inspiration,” said the vice president while appealing the party workers to continue with their zeal for all-round development of the state.

He also urged the karayakartas to reach the unreached and to share information about all the available schemes of the government so that all could get the benefits.

Among others, Advisor to CM Tai Tagak, former minister Tangor Tapak, ex MLA Tapen Siga and general secretary Jarpum Gamlin also spoke.
