Precious life of a young woman saved

TAWANG, Apr 7: The precious life of a young woman has been saved courtesy the combined endeavour of medical men from civil and military fronts.

This was made possible today with the medical professionals from Khandro Drowa Sangmu District Hospital Tawang joining their hands with their counterparts from 305 Army Field Hospital Khrimu.

A young female was admitted at District Hospital Tawang in a critical condition due to ruptured ectopic pregnancy in stage 2 Haemorraghic shock, but had to be shifted to Khrimu Army Hospital due to unavailability of Anaesthesist, where she was operated upon by Dr Tenzin Kunga (Gynaecologist), Dr Tenzin Gyaltsen (EmOC trained medical officer of District Hospital Tawang and Maj Sunil Julmaria, General Surgeon of 305 Field Hospita Khrimu being assisted by Lt Col Sanjaya Kr Gupta, Anaesthesist.

During the operation, it was observed that about 2.5 litres of blood were collected inside the abdomen from a ruptured left tubal pregnancy. The patient was managed by left sided salpingectomy and four units of blood were provided to the patient from Blood Bank Tawang.

This is not the first time when Army has extended cooperation at the time of medical emergency in Tawang.

Existing bonhomie between the District Hospital and 305 Fd Hospital speaks volumes of the strong civil military ties in the area, which has rendered a better health service for the public. (DIPRO)
