Call for strengthening party orgn reverberates at APMCC meeting

ITANAGAR, Apr 10: With the next general election not far away, a senior Congress leader today called upon the Arunachal Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (APMCC) to gear up and strengthen the party organization at all levels to regain power in the 2019 polls.

Addressing an extended executive meeting of the APMCC at the party HQs, Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here, the All-India Mahila Congress secretary and in-charge of Arunachal Pradesh, Kim Haokip Shingnaisui exhorted the Mahila Congress to reach out to the block level and carry out organizational work without fear, and even by making door-to-door visit at the grassroot level. She added, if Mahilas wish they can even conquer the world.

APMCC president Kamala Linggi, who chaired the meeting, also endorsed visiting leader’s advice to strengthen the party organization. While narrating the difficulties and obstacles being faced by the Mahilas, she stressed on early passage of the women reservation bill to provide 33% reservation to women in Parliament and State Assemblies.

Among others, APCC vice president Minkir Lollen, secretaries Abom Lomdak and Toko Yaram, and City Congress Committee president Yangbiu Tajuk also spoke and wholeheartedly supported the State Mahila Congress’ demand for the passage of women reservation bill.
