Bid to reach out to the poor through Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, to be rolled out on Apr 14

ITANAGAR, Apr 12: A coordination meeting on Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, to be rolled out from April 14 on the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar to reach out to the grassroots people and to continue with a series of events till May 5 next, was held across the State today.

PASIGHAT: East Siang DC Tamiyo Tatak has asked all stakeholders to   make best efforts with proper planning and coordination to ensure success of the special initiative for the poor.

A series of commemorative days/events will be organized so that the stated objective of the Abhiyan by the Government India to reach out to the Gram Panchayats, ensure 100% coverage of the seven welfare flagship programmes for the rural beneficiaries in the identified villages of the district are achieved with active community participation, Tatak said.

The district, block and Gram Panchayat levels activities must all be properly planned out, he instructed.

Speaking on the key activities to be taken up, Tatak referred to the videoconference chaired by the in-charge CS Kaling Tayeng earlier with DCs on Wednesday wherein the latter had asked for ensuring 100% coverage in the identified 299 villages of the state, for creating awareness and ensuring that benefits of the flagship schemes reach the rural people in various sectors.

The DC entrusted the HoDs, admin officers and other stakeholders with duties to be carried out during the period of campaign and reiterated on proper coordination, awareness creation and also for documentation of the activities carried out in their respective blocks.

Among others, PRI members, representative of SBI, ADCs of Ruksin and Mebo, HoDs and officers of stakeholder departments/agencies viz Panchayat, Planning, ICDS, DRDA, Power, Agriculture, APEDA, Health, Food & Civil Supplies, NIC, PHE, e-Gov (DIT) and UD were present.

TEZU: The meeting on Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan was held at the DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of Kajal Karmakar, SDO Tezu (in- charge DC) here today. All the HoDs and representatives of line departments were present in the meeting.

Eight commemorative days have been proposed, April 14 to be organized as Samajik Nyaya Diwas (Social Justice Day), 18 Apr as Swachh Bharat Diwas, Ujjwala Diwas on 20, Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Diwas on 24, Gram Swaraj Diwas on 28, Ayushmaan Bharat Diwas on 30, Kisan Kalyan Diwas on 2nd May and Aajeevika Diwas on 5th May.

Karmakar sought cooperation and coordination from all concerned departments to make the campaign a grand success.

He asked all the stakeholders like State Bank of India, Rural Bank, PHED, Health & Family Welfare, Agriculture, DRDA, APEDA, Food & Civil Supplies departments etc to utilize the opportunity in educating and disseminating information relating to flagship programmes such as Pandhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana, Ujala Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Mission Indradhanush to the common masses.

He also appealed for community participation in the campaigns to achieve its objective which is to promote social harmony, reach out to poor rural households, obtain feedback on ongoing programme, enroll in new initiatives, focus on doubling farmers’ income, enhance livelihood opportunities and re-emphasize national priorities such as cleanliness and strengthen Panchayati Raj Institution.

KHONSA: The district level coordination meeting with HoDs, PRIs in connection with Gram Swaraj Abhiyan was held at Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall of DC’s office here.

Addressing the gathering, Tirap DC P N Thungon while briefing the details of commemorative days directed all concerned head of offices to initiate preparations for celebrating the days as per the schedule prescribed by the govt.

He urged all concerned departments to make efforts to ensure participation from all sections of community so as to make the campaign meaningful, motivating and informative. This should involve women SHGs, large orientation of panchayat representatives with meticulous planning and monitoring in rural areas covering 24 villages identified in the district.

He instructed the line departments to ensure provision of adequate IEC materials in the form of print and audio visual aids, which need to be provided to the gram sabhas.

The meeting was attended by ZPC Tirap Sontung Bangsia, PRI members and HoOs.

YINGKIONG: The meeting on Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (village self governance campaign) was held at the DC’s conference hall here under the chairmanship of Duly Kamduk, DC Yingkiong.

The DC highlighted the activities to be carried out by all concerned departments and urged all to chalk out the programmes as per schedule as given by Government of India, and carry out the activities with utmost sincerity and dedication for grand success of the programme.

It was also informed that altogether 17 villages of Upper Siang district would be covered in the campaign. (DIPROs)
