Dialysis unit under PMNDP launched at TRIHMS

ITANAGAR, Apr 12: The dialysis unit under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) which envisages to provide free dialysis services to the poor as part of National Health Mission on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode is now made officially available in the state with Commissioner Health & Family Welfare Kaling Tayeng launching it at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences)), Naharlagun today amidst a gathering of Dr Tapasya Raghav, Special Secretary cum Mission Director-NHM, DFW, DME, DHS, Jt DHS (P & D), CMS along with doctors and nurses of TRIHMS.

During the launch, Dr L Jampa, SNO (NCD) highlighting the objectives of the PMNDP informed that the state has received five of the 15 assured dialysis equipments which have been donated by Fairfax India Charitable Foundation (FICF) in partnership with the Government of India.

The programme is designed to be implemented in collaboration with service provider M/s Eskag Sanjeevani Pvt Ltd, Kolkata.

The state has signed an MoU with the company for a period of five years in which free dialysis services will be provided by the govt to the patients needing dialysis for their kidney ailments.
