Alleged drug peddler arrested, seizures made

ROING, Apr 13: Roing Police arrested last night an alleged drug peddler who was absconding, Sipi Miso at Intaya village here.

Acting on a tip off, the Roing Police team led by SI Abraham Taying conducted a raid to apprehend the drug peddler at the village in the night of 12th April and the peddler was arrested after the police gave a hard chase.

Two plastic packets containing cocaine weighing about 8 gms, 8 mobile handsets, one local dao and cash amount of Rs 29,130 were seized from his possession, in the presence of the town magistrate.

The investigating officer of the case, SI Taying said that the alleged accused had been absconding and evading police arrest since the last raid conducted at his residence on 27th March 2018, wherein his three co-accused were arrested with cocaine weighing 11.22 gms in their possession.

A case vide Roing PS Case No 15/2018 U/S 22(b)/24(a) NDPS Act has been registered and is under investigation.

Meanwhile, SP Roing Sanjay Kr Sain while lauding the team for their sincere and prompt action, on a reiterating mode, has warned that there is no place for drug peddlers and addicts in Roing. The SP has been closely monitoring the case since the initial stages. (DIPRO)
