DA urged to take action

ITANAGAR, Apr 17: The members of Operation Clean Drive of All Tawang District Students’ Union on Tuesday demanded the District Administration to initiate action against the reported encroachment of govt land in Tawang.

In its two-point representation to the Tawang Deputy Commissioner, the Union lamented saying “encroachment in govt land has become a serious issue in the district headquarters as many of the buildings are being constructed without proper land allotment”.

It claimed that many govt quarters are slowly disappearing due to rampant encroachments.

Further, claiming that many families in Tawang are having both Schedule Tribe certificate and Refugee Card, the Union expressed grave concern over the situation and called upon the DA to take immediate action. The Union also claimed that members belonging to same family are allegedly enjoying both the rights and demanded the DA to verify the same and get either their ST or RC surrendered.
