DNSLFT begins, AFA edge past Burum 1-0

ITANAGAR, Apr 21: The 5th edition of Dera Natung State Level Football Tournament (DNSLFT) 2018 for sub-junior boys (U-16) started at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun today.

In the inaugural match, Arunachal Football Academy (AFA) edged past Burum United FC 1-0. Kargil Yinyo scored the all-important goal in 45th minute of the match.

A total of 16 teams from the state are taking part in the competition.

Earlier, Techi Kaso, Parliamentary Secretary for UD, Housing, Town Planning & Municipal Affairs, who attended the inaugural ceremony, called upon the young players to maintain sportsman spirit and hard work in order to achieve success in life.

Bamang Tago, chairman SAA, executive members of APFA and District Football Associations of the state were also present.

Before the inaugural match, one minute silence was observed to pay homage to late Taba Tania, former first Class State football Referee.

Three matches will be played tomorrow. In the first outing, Queens Gate Public School will take on Polo City FC, followed by the second between Moon Light FC and Rono Hills SC. In the third match, Young Star FC will lock horns with Kamle DFA.
