ITANAGAR, May 16: Claiming that its Union’s name was badly defamed by the office of the Registrar of Trade Unions recently, the All Arunachal Pradesh Mazdoor Union (AAPMU) on Wednesday demanded the concerned authority for immediate rectification on the matter.

In a letter addressed to the Labour Commissioner-cum-Registrar of Trade Unions, the Union claimed that the letter from the office of the Registrar of Trade Unions not only rejected its request for registration in the Trade Unions but also badly defamed the Union’s name, thereby damaging the hard earned image of Union.

Reportedly, in response to the request letter from AAPMU for registration in the Trade Unions, the Registrar of Trade Unions had written to the Union that it cannot be registered under Trade Unions due to various reasons such as similar nomenclature and involvement of its members in 3 crore scam. Demanding probe into the allegation with proper evidence within one week, the Union threatened to take its own course of action if it fails to do so.
