Blood donation camp marks Rajiv Gandhi’s 27th death anniv

ITANAGAR, May 21: To commemorate the 27th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) today organized a blood donation camp for Army personnel at RK Mission Hospital here.

Gracing the programme, former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki lauded APYC for the noble initiative and appealed the Youth Congress workers to passionately work for the great cause of the society in days to come. Also present on the occasion was Swami Kundan Maharaj of RKMH.

Attending the event as a resource person, Ramesh Jeke, chairman of Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donor Organization motivated the youths to come forward for blood donation without any hesitation & fear as it helps save countless lives every day. He also appreciated the APYC for the initiative and extended thankfulness to all the blood donors.

APYC president Geli Ete, while extending sincere thanks to all the blood donors, said that blood donation is the act of giving life. He further expressed gratitude to the authorities and medical staff of RKMH for their support for the successful conduction of blood donation camp.

He also remembered ‘Bharat Ratna’ Rajiv Gandhi, youth icon of the country, who brought revolution in the telecommunication and IT sectors and universalisation of education in the country.

On the occasion, Youth Congress and Mahila Congress workers donated blood. Among others, APCC general secretary Tachu Hina, APYC general secretary Tanu Dulom (Nima) and president in-charge of APMCC Nabam Yakum also spoke.
