PASIGHAT, Jun 3: The Women Against Social Evils (WASE), Mangnang village unit under Ruksin sub-division conducted a cleanliness drive in and around the village recently, as part of an effort to save the village from monsoon related diseases.

The WASE village unit is said to have caught a marijuana peddler recently and seized substances meant for selling into open market, which were destroyed while giving warning to the peddler not to repeat such illegal business again.

According to the village unit of WASE, they won’t tolerate the use of drugs and illegal sale of IMFL in the village, which they felt are the reasons behind destroying the lives of many youth today. Other village members including Gaon Burahs are also willing to cooperate and support the women folks from now on to curb the menace of drug and IMFL use in the village.
