TRIHMS set to become functional ‘soon’: H & FW Minister

ITANAGAR, Jun 7: Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) is set to become “fully” functional in August next.

This was informed by Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang.

The Minister along with officials from departments of Health, Family Welfare, Medical and Technical Education today assessed the progress of under construction TRIHMS at Naharlagun.

The Libang-led team visited all the completed Wards, Library, laboratory, administrative blocks, mortuary, all departments as per the MCI (Medical Council of India) requirement, dissection rood, cancer unit, Anatomy branch, physiology, Nursing School, hostel for boys and girls, IPD etc and met the patients of different Wards and asked about their wellbeing and prayed for early recovery.

Libang while asserting on completion of the Medical College by August 2018 directed the officers of TRIHMS administration to take care of the upcoming project and report on the works progress to the higher authority.

TRIHMS Director Dr Moji Jini informed that almost all the requirement for the functioning the Medical College is nearing completion.

While interacting with the faculty, Libang said that it was a dream to have a good hospital with all facilities and most important was requirement of a Medical College of our own which is coming to be a reality soon.

Toeing the lines of MLA main Assembly hall turned into administrative block as a centre where all the elected representative sit together, he called for taking such step by turning it (Medical College) into a temple of learning. He assured all support in functioning of the college and requested the faculty to guide the department and himself about the technical works that need to be carried out in the greater interest of the TRIHMS and the state as a whole.

Satisfied at the works progress by the construction company M/s Kenge Construction, the Minister expressed hope that the tempo should be continued so that the academic atmosphere does not get hampered during the course of time.

He also discussed the works progress and requirements for construction at all stages with the Proprietor Ha Tatu, while the latter assured his commitment for a quality work for smooth functioning of the Medical College.
