Prepare innovative proposals under SIDF

TEZU, Jun 13: A preliminary meeting in connection with State Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF) was held at the conference hall of Mini Secretariat, Tezu (headquarters of Lohit district) today.

Attending the meeting, Agriculture, Horticulture, AH&V and Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Dr Mohesh Chai asked the departments to prepare proposals that are innovative.

Advocating for preparing the projects which are challenging yet feasible, he said that every aspect of the project should be thoroughly researched before submitting.

Dr Chai also touched upon some of the burning issues pertaining to the district. He expressed his concern over the poor performance of the recently announced Class X and XII CBSE results.

Dismayed at the pass percentage of 26 (X) and 45.2 (XII), he said we will have to introspect as to where we went wrong and find the solution at the earliest.

Asserting that one of the main concerns related to the district is flood, the Minister asked the DDMO to conduct an awareness camp in villages, especially at Danglat village to educate the villagers of the danger of venturing out in the forests and rivers during monsoon.

Dr Chai urged upon all district officers to be sincere and contribute in making Lohit a model district in Arunachal Pradesh.

A District Committee on SIDF will be constituted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, MLA and other members shortly for selection of projects and schemes, informed Lohit DC Karma Leki.

Meanwhile as a flood preparedness measure, the DC has instructed DDMO to activate the Flood Response Team and District Control Room. He also directed to designate relief camps, prepare resource mapping and constitute rescue team.

PWD, RWD, WRD, Education, Health and Family Welfare, UD, NIC etc presented their proposals at the meeting.

Earlier, Dr Chai was accorded a warm welcome by the DC, SP, HoDs, PR members and public leaders of Tezu-Sunpura Assembly constituency on his maiden visit to his home constituency after assuming the additional key portfolios.

In a brief interaction with the members present at Circuit House here, he paid his gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu for showing trust in him and giving additional responsibility to fulfill the hope and aspirations of people of the State. (DIPRO)
