Hundreds take blessings of 10th Lhagyalri Rinpoche

ITANAGAR, Jun 17: Hundreds of people thronged Thupten Gatseling Monastery here today to have a glimpse of 10th Lhagyalri Rinpoche and take blessings from him during the ‘Rinpoche Darshan’.

The programme was organized under the initiative of the Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society (IBCS).

Lhagyalri Rincpoche Tenzin Wangchen is believed to be the re-incarnation of the 9th Lhagyalri Rincpoche Thuptan Jigmey. Rinpoche Jigmey, who was from Dirang and was the Rinpoche of the Lhagyala Monastery in Morshing village, Kalaktang, passed away in 2013 at the age of 67.

Wangchen was identified as the 10th Lhagyalri Rinpoche somewhere in between August and September last year. Rinpoche Wangchen was born to Ngawang Dondup and Sonam Dorma of Khasar Padum village, Janskhar (Ladakh) on March 27, 2015. He is the youngest among his siblings.

The event chairman Trashi Wangdi informed that Rinpoche Wangchen, was in Kalaktang for last six to seven months and on the request of the IBCS, the three-and-half-year-old Rinpoche was brought to Itanagar.

Wangdi added that from Itanagar he would go back to Kalaktang and after staying there for another one month he would then proceed to Dharamshala for formal education and training.
