Call for rigorous ILP checking

ITANAGAR, Jun, 23: Taking serious note of reported mobilization of illegal migrants from neighboring countries like Bangladesh and Myanmar borders, the All Kamle District Youth Association (AKDYA) has requested the District Administration to immediately conduct phase-wise Inner Line Permit (ILP) checking in the entire district.

In a three-point representation submitted to the Kamle District DC, the Association asserted that phase-wise ILP checking in the entire district is necessitated to check the influx of illegal migrants.

The Association had on June 20 last carried out its first phase of ILP checking drive from Surya to Kemliko village covering the district headquarters Raga under the theme “Operation Clean Drive”.

During the drive, hundreds of non-tribals without valid ILP were found and on further verification done with their local guardians, 27 of them were found to be illegal intruders who did not possess any proof of Indian citizenship, who were later handed over to police and magistrate for further course of action.
