Cultural competition cum musical nite held at Borduria

Khonsa, Jun 23: The 1st ever cultural competition cum musical night, organized by youth of 57-Borduria-Bogapani Assembly Constituency, was held at Towang Lowangdong Auditorium, Borduria on Friday. Gracing the occasion, Tirap Deputy Commissioner P N Thungon emphasized on importance of education, healthcare & hygiene, preservation and promotion of age-old traditional culture.

While appreciating the organizing committee for conducting the two-day youth conference cum cultural competition with the theme “youth empowerment”, the DC said it is quite innovative and meaningful and added, all concerned should be motivated to channelize the youth energy in a positive way by avoiding all odds like drugs abuse, unprotected sexual relationship which may cause HIV/AIDS, violence and their indulgence in other unlawful activities.

The DC said that academic results of 2017-18 in the district were not all upto expectations as such parents must keep vigil with their children to ensure whether they actually attend their classes or not because parents are the first and foremost teacher for the children.

Apart from cultural competition, the event witnessed performances from singer Tawang Lowang (who was one among Arunachal Idol top 15) of Longgo village, popular Nocte modern singers Joseph Wangpan and Monglin Mongwang of Borduria village, Blue Ink Musical Band vocalist Chinwang Dada, renowned drummer Mongdam Mongwang, Jangwang Tangjang from New Laptang, and English number by Ngoangwang Kakho of Old Paniduria.

The programme was attended, among others, by local MLA cum Advisor to CM Wanglin Lowangdong, Nocte Women Society chairperson Chasuam Wangchadong, DDSE Pubi Lombi, Borduria CO Lim Modi and GB of Borduria. (DIPRO)
