DDCMC assesses progress of centrally sponsored schemes in EK

SEPPA, Jun 30: The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) or Disha of East Kameng district held its 2nd quarter meeting at Kameng Hall here yesterday to assess the progress of all centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the district.

Disha Week was also observed to commemorate the completion of two years of its formation during the event.

Suggesting for convening such fruitful meeting periodically to gather proper assessment and better coordination amongst the departments, East Kameng DC Gaurav Singh Rajawat acknowledged that there would always be problems while performing noble tasks and simultaneously, enlightened the gathering that any degree or measure of issues could be resolved if they are persuaded sincerely by adopting a proper mechanism.

He exhorted all the departments present to confront any issue by devising solutions first rather than finding excuses and urged everyone to shoulder their responsibility dedicatedly.

Acknowledging that sometimes departments have to take tough decision for good, the DC assured to provide all-out support and exhorted the officials not to shy away from endorsing hard action if it is done for development of all.

Suggesting for formulation of an Annual Action Plan for the district, he made an appeal to all stakeholders to work in tandem as Team East Kameng to bring all welfare schemes at the doorsteps of the people.

Appreciating the officials for their enlightening and informative presentations, DC suggested that from next meeting onwards the team leaders of the committees as constituted for different administrative blocks under Disha should present the performances and achievements of works undertaken by various departments in their respective blocks. Briefing about the priorities of the Central and State governments, DC directed all the departments concerned, particularly the Rural Development, to incorporate water conservation works in their action plan especially for the monsoon seasons.

Enquiring about the PMKSY, he suggested for convening of a convergence meeting with all line departments including Agri and allied, WRD and RD to compile the status of total cultivable and irrigated area of the district.

Enquiring about the status of IPDS and Saubhagya, he directed the Power department to submit report on progress of work under Comprehensive Scheme by PGCIL and suggested to include LM department from next meeting onwards.

Informing about the plan for BME camps in blocks, he appealed everyone to generate awareness about the camps so that all the left-out people could be enrolled for Aadhaar cards.

He enquired about the status of PMUY and NFSA and directed the DF&CSO to furnish the list and connect all the households without LPG connection. Informing about the proposals of setting up of mobile phone towers in almost all the administrative circles of the district, he directed EAC Pakke Kessang to identify a skilled person for opening up a banking correspondence there. He directed the DIO to assess and repair all the VSAT facilities of the district.

Stressing on the importance of education for better tomorrow, DC Rajawat directed the DDSE to furnish the list of defunct schools and the status of their infrastructures and suggested their usage for other official purposes, which may include, among others, panchayat office and health facility. He directed the DDSE to fill up all the vacant posts of teachers and other supporting staffs. He also suggested and directed the DDSE to engage BRCC, CRCC and subject specialist teachers for regular teaching purposes. Acknowledging adoption of school a novel initiative, he urged and suggested that everyone should adopt at least one school in their jurisdiction.

Enquiring about the PMMVY and Poshan Yojana, DC suggested the DD (ICDS) to conduct special camps in all Anganwadi centres to measure the BMI of children to assess the status of malnutrition in the district for enabling timely intervention.

Earlier, PD (DRDA) Dahey Sangno highlighted the status of physical and financial achievements on various centrally-sponsored schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY (G), IWMP/PMKSY and others.

EKSW&CO chairman Safar Pao, WWO president Mone Singhi Taba and ST Morcha representative Loku Sono suggested for improvement of law and order issues in the district. (DIPRO)
